Do clicks help me or cost me?

Both — the same way they do in a real ad auction. Every click spends part of your balance, because clicks are what you came for. But listings that get clicked more than the board average pay roughly half as much per click and rank up to 2x higher. Money gets you on the board; being worth clicking keeps you there.

How much does #1 cost?

Whatever the current king's melted score is, plus $1. Because scores halve daily, #1 keeps falling back into everyone's reach.
