Every pay-to-rank leaderboard, compared
In August 2026 the internet rediscovered the Million Dollar Homepage: pay money, get ranked, dare someone to outbid you. Within 72 hours there was a whole genre — and it is still growing as you read this. Here's the full list — including us, marked honestly.
- Mechanic:
- Highest lifetime bid holds #1. Beat the top by $1 to take it.
- Your bid:
- Permanent, so the #1 price only ratchets up. It climbed into five figures within days of launch.
- Note:
- The site that started the August 2026 wave. ~190K visitors in its first days, nearly all from X.
- Anyone on it?
- $189,459 in bids across 1,290 listings, from our last successful read of its API on 24 August. It has been rate-limiting us since.
- Mechanic:
- Same pay-more-rank-higher model, but listings are App Store links with icons and seller names.
- Your bid:
- Permanent, lifetime total per app.
- Note:
- The App Store fork of the idea, launched a day after outbid.lol.
- Anyone on it?
- A near-empty shell: the page loads a title and little else.
- Mechanic:
- One public leaderboard; your bid determines your rank until someone outbids you.
- Your bid:
- Permanent until outbid.
- Note:
- A straight clone of outbid.lol.
- Anyone on it?
- Claims 13.9K visitors in the last 24 hours, the busiest of the copies.
- Mechanic:
- Perpetual auction for 8 squares. Pay a multiple of the last price to take one.
- Your bid:
- Refunded with profit — get outbid and you leave with up to 1.5× what you paid.
- Note:
- The most financialized variant: being outbid is how you win. Closer to a game of chicken than a leaderboard.
- Anyone on it?
- $1,235 raised, $335 in the pool, nobody online when we looked.
- Mechanic:
- A directory of pay-to-rank sites — ranked, inevitably, by bid.
- Your bid:
- Permanent until outbid.
- Note:
- The genre eating its own tail. Built by Damon Chen.
- Anyone on it?
- Live and taking bids, no public revenue figure on the front page.
- Mechanic:
- Buy a spot, it fades 5% every day. Outbid #100 to get in, or outbid everyone for #1.
- Your bid:
- Decays slowly — 5%/day means a half-life of about two weeks.
- Note:
- The other decaying board. Same instinct as ours, far gentler slope: a paid #1 still holds for weeks.
- Anyone on it?
- 100 ranked spots, and you can list free by posting once on X.
- Mechanic:
- Pay to be seen; the whole board resets every 90 days.
- Your bid:
- Wiped quarterly rather than decayed continuously.
- Note:
- Reset instead of decay — everyone starts over four times a year.

- #1 costs $11, 9 brands on the board, 28 visitors in 24 hours.
- Mechanic:
- Pay more, rank higher.
- Your bid:
- Permanent.
- Note:
- Another straight take on the format.
- Anyone on it?
- $954 taken in its first 124 hours.
- Mechanic:
- Bigger bid, better position. You hold the spot until someone brings one more dollar.
- Your bid:
- Permanent, same ratchet as outbid.lol.
- Note:
- Says "inspired by outbid.lol" on its own footer. Strips query strings from every listing link, so affiliate and tracking URLs do not survive, which is a nicer touch than most of the wave.
- Anyone on it?
- $0 made and no visitors since launch, by its own counter.
- Mechanic:
- Claim #1 for the going price; spots start at $1 and a smaller bid still places you further down.
- Your bid:
- Permanent, with top-ups on the same domain.
- Note:
- The most built-out of the newer copies: ten categories, and a Times Square billboard tie-in. Nobody has listed on it yet.
- Anyone on it?
- No projects listed in any category, 246 page views so far.
- Mechanic:
- Highest melting balance holds #1. Bids drain 50% every 24 hours and a little with every click they earn.
- Your bid:
- Melts, which is the point. #1 always falls back into reach, so the board never freezes.
- Note:
- This site. Built because the permanent-bid ladder freezes: decay keeps every spot affordable and every lead temporary.
- Anyone on it?
- $48 in bids, 121 visitors in 24 hours. Small, and every figure public at /stats.
Which one should you bid on?
For a one-off traffic spike while the wave is hot: outbid.lol has the most eyeballs today. For iOS apps specifically: topapp.lol. If you want being outbid to pay you: frontpage.sh.
